Eric de Valpine

President and CEO

For the last 20 years Eric has helped small companies launch, grow and stabilize. He has been CFO of multimedia and software companies including some with angel and venture capital backing. Most recently, Eric ran Foodshed Investors, an angel network focused on small producers and sustainable agriculture, and a provider of Technical Assistance to two USDA funded grants.  

Most recently Eric was the pre-opening CFO for a food & beverage project preserving a building from 1880 and adding it to the National Register of Historic Places, and simultaneously opening the first vinyl listening lounge in Austin, TX. Both developments in unique urban core neighborhoods experiencing transformative change.   

Eric has a BA from the University of Texas, Austin and an MBA from the University of California, Irvine.

Charles is an accomplished technology executive with a proven 20+ year track record at leading organizations in Real Estate and Technology. Charles spent the first 15 years of his career in a variety of sales, marketing and senior leadership positions at semiconductor firms Analog Devices and Texas Instruments. In 2018, he founded ePropertyCare and today has clients in over 27 states and offers an end-to-end smart building solution. As an active landlord and successful PropTech company founder, he understands intimately how technology solutions integrate with real estate to achieve efficiencies and boost NOI.  

Charles has a BS in Electrical Engineering and minor in Finance from Princeton University, an executive MBA from the University of Chicago Booth School of Business and completed executive education at MIT Sloan School of Business.

Chris brings over 20 years of experience in real estate development, acquisitions, and finance. By combining creative vision with analytical rigor, Chris has successfully launched and grown markets, sourced development pipelines, and managed complex residential, multifamily, and mixed-use projects. He led the development, acquisitions, and asset management activities for real estate investment firms in diverse markets, including Denver, Miami, and Los Angeles.  

Most recently, as Division President at StoryBuilt, Chris built and led a high-performing team in Denver, overseeing all aspects of urban infill, mixed-use projects from sourcing and entitlement to execution.
 
Chris has a Bachelor of Architecture professional degree from Cornell University and an MBA from Boston University.

He has driven over $1B in enterprise and consumer sales and held executive roles including CEO, CSO, and CRO, with leadership spanning sales, business development, and strategy.  

His career highlights include scaling an e-reading platform to $200M in annual revenue, launching a social network adopted by 60,000+ households, and incubating a tech division supporting a $2B real estate pipeline. Chris is known for forging high-stakes partnerships and navigating dynamic, fast-growth environments. He holds a BA in Communications from Vanderbilt University.

Lydia is a marketing and operations leader with 15+ years of experience driving growth across fintech, consumer products, and SaaS. She specializes in building high-impact marketing strategies and guiding organizations through rapid scale, from early-stage startups to established companies. 

She’s held senior roles including VP of Marketing at Buzz Points and has led digital strategy, brand development, and go-to-market execution for a wide range of clients through her consulting work. Lydia holds a BA in Business and Economics from Wheaton College and an MBA from UT Austin’s McCombs School of Business.

Ashley is a strategic consultant with deep experience at the intersection of technology, operations, and organizational growth. She began her career in software development and spent nearly two decades advising federal agencies on resilience, cybersecurity, and innovation. 

She later supported Austin tech startups in talent and growth strategy, and now leads her own consulting practice—partnering with real estate operators, tech firms, and mission-driven organizations to align strategy with execution. Ashley holds a BBA in Management Information Systems from the University of Oklahoma.

Leah is a versatile professional with a background in education, real estate, and entrepreneurship. She began her career as an educator, later gaining experience in client service, short-term rental management, and launching a successful children’s resale business. 

Known for her organization, attention to detail, and proactive mindset, Leah brings adaptability and a strong commitment to excellence to every role. She holds a BA and teaching certification from Loyola University Chicago.

 

Jeff McQueen

Jeff McQueen

Jeff is President of Shea Homes and a key leader behind the success of its Trilogy brand, which he helped scale into a multistate, 2,000+ closings-per-year operation in the 55+ active adult market. 

Over his 25+ years at Shea, Jeff has held senior roles across operations, finance, and land strategy—playing a pivotal role in sourcing over $1.6B in capital and co-launching Shea Capital, a $1.2B equity fund with CalPERS. He brings deep expertise in strategic planning, capital markets, and large-scale development. Jeff holds a BA from Whitman College and an MBA from ASU’s W. P. Carey School of Business.

Ryan is an experienced entrepreneur and financial strategist with a track record of scaling businesses and unlocking new market opportunities. Before founding StoryBuilt, he served as CFO at iTax Group, where he led the company through rapid growth and a successful acquisition by First American Corp. 

At StoryBuilt, Ryan transformed a small rental portfolio into a $1B+ real estate development platform, leading expansion into new markets, securing capital partnerships, and driving long-term value creation. He brings deep expertise in financial operations, deal structuring, and strategic growth. Ryan holds a Bachelor’s and Master’s in Accounting from Arizona State University.

 

Jeffrey Mah

Jeffrey Mah

Jeffery Mah, CFA, is a finance executive with deep expertise across homebuilding, real estate, and capital markets. As VP of Finance at Highland Homes, he leads FP&A, treasury, and capital strategy for one of Texas’s top builders. 

With over 15 years of experience, Jeffery has held senior roles at StoryBuilt, CBRE, and Ashford Hospitality Trust, driving growth through M&A, corporate finance, and structured transactions. He’s a CFA charterholder with a hands-on leadership style that blends financial discipline with operational execution. Jeffery holds an engineering degree from Princeton and an MBA from TCU.
